Marietta City Hall The City of Marietta provides a competitive benefits package for fire department personnel. These include options for medical, life, and disability insurance policies.

 

Full-Time City of Marietta/BLW fire department personnel receive:

No social security deduction = 6.2% of your salary in your pocket
Medical, dental, vision and drug coverage provided. Employee's cost is currently weekly cost $10.49 for single coverage and $30.09 for family coverage.
Medical Insurance Opt Out Program.
Flexible Benefit Plan-use pre-taxed dollars for insurance premiums, medical expenses, and dependent childcare.
Life insurance equal to three times salary – at no cost to the employee.
City/BLW pension plan - employee contribution is 4%. Employees are fully vested after ten years continuous service.
100% City/BLW-paid Supplemental pension plan (paid in lieu of social security)-provided at no additional cost to the employee.
457 deferred compensation plans available for employee contributions using pre-tax dollars.
Early retirement available at age 55 (at a reduced benefit).
120 hours holiday leave per calendar year (12 hours per holiday).
Vacation accrual until 5th anniversary: 112 hours/year. Benefit increases to 168 hours/year at tenth anniversary.
Sick Leave accrual at the rate of 2.16 hours per week.
Sick leave sell back program for eligible employees at Christmas.
Health Place Fitness Center at exceptional individual, couple and family rates.
Millitary and funeral leave available for qualifying events.
